meet me in st. louie
adam and i had a great time during our short trip to st. louis. we planned our day trip around a cardinals game for adam's upcoming 23rd birthday! the day was great even though the cards lost. here is a short recap in photos.
here we are with the field, right before singing take me out the ball game. this was taken by the brewers fans behind us.
here's the field during the game.
hilariously enough, james van der beek (formerly of dawson's creek) threw the first pitch of the game. it was amazing.
here is a picture of him on the jumbo screen. not great, but i promise it was him!
pre game we took a little walk down to the arch. we finally got the camera set up with timer in order to capture this shot.
a sweet family took this one for us!
this is one we obviously tried on our own. see adam's awesome hat?! we both got one for free upon arrival at the stadium.
st. louis arch! too bad i forgot my national park passport!!!!!!
AND adam made a new friend.
we really did have a great day. i'm so glad this man was born 23 years ago (on wednesday).

home inspection blues
well, i anticipated a post with beautiful photos of our newly inspected home. we aren't sure what we are going to do yet, but here is what we discovered at the inspection.
the sweet inspector guy said that he had only one concern, but that it was kind of a big concern. a portion of the house is built on a non-traditional foundation. it is actually built on a "deck" kind of. its foundation is wood and although it looks like it is treated wood and may be fine structurally, the unconventional foundation could hurt its resale potential down the road.
so that is where we are. no pictures. we'll keep you informed.

homemade whole wheat bread
SUPER find!!!
well, first. i'm making my first ever homemade bread today. this was step one. right now i'm waiting for it to rise.
but earlier, adam and i went to grandma's attic. we found something amazing!! and here it is...
it is a vintage sewing machine (in case you can't tell from the picture!) AND it works!!!! AND it was only 20 bucks!!! holy moly!! too bad it doesn't really have a home in our apt, but it certainly will when we have a house!
when the bread is ready, i'll show more pictures. and more to come of non-food things that i've made.
